| Ramadan is the name of a month in Islamic calendar. It is a special month in which the reward for good deed, prayer is multiplied manifold for a believer, as compared to, in others. Fasting is observed from dawn to dusk, in this month who can afford to. Fasting requires one to abstain from eating, drinking etc, besides restraining oneself from evil temptations; like backbiting, quarrelling and so on to uphold the validity of the fast and its acceptance to Allah.Besides of the innumerable medical advantages of fasting,it also teaches patience, self discipline, self control and so on. The month of Ramadan is also remembered as the “MONTH OF COMPASSION” which reminds of hungry and poor. The end of Ramadan is marked by giving away of alms in charity by as per the affordability, by the Muslims to the needy.The end of Ramadan brings the arrival of Eid-ul-fitr festival day.
